SHENZHEN Institute of Information Technology (SZIIT) will build a new campus in Shenshan Special Cooperation Zone, Shenzhen Evening News reported yesterday.

SZIIT signed a cooperation agreement with the management committee of Shenshan Special Cooperation Zone on Monday to jointly construct the new campus.

According to the design plan, the Shenshan campus covers some 133 hectares which will accommodate 20,000 students, bigger than the current campus in Longgang District that is 92.5 hectares and accommodates 16,000 students.

The construction of the new campus will be divided into two phases. The first phase is expected to be concluded in the first half of 2023, according to SZIIT.

The new school will serve the social and economic development and industrial upgrading in Shenshan Special Cooperation Zone.

The Shenshan campus of SZIIT will establish a number of majors, including software technology and big data, information technology and artificial intelligence, intelligent manufacturing and equipment, robotics and cloud uting, marine electronics and information technology, ecological environment and cultural innovation.

Moreover, it is designed to be an open smart campus spotlighting five concepts, specifically innovation, coordination, green, openness and sharing.
