ONE teacher and six students from Shenzhen Institute of Information Technology (SZIIT) were recruited to safeguard network security during the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics and the ongoing 2022 Beijing Paralympic Winter Games, according to SZIIT.

The teacher and students were hired as network security guards for the two Games, mainly responsible for ensuring security of official websites and related systems. It is said that the organizing committees technology department for the two Games initiated the Winter Gamesfirst charity network security project in its history to recruit a group of talent specialized in network security for related works.

Starting last October, SZIITs computer science school cooperated with QI-ANXIN Shenzhen branch, one of the network security projects service providers, to select qualified applicants from the university.

Hu Guangwu, a teacher from SZIIT, five enrolled students and one graduate student were finally chosen to support network security work during the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics and 2022 Beijing Paralympic Winter Games.

While I was overwhelmed by the beauty of the Winter Olympicsopening ceremony, I also knew there was a group of people working hard behind the scenes to ensure network security. It is a great honor to contribute to this, said Chen Yizhe, one of the network security guards from SZIIT.
