On the 24th of November HIT held our usual pre-conference harm reduction cafe. This year it also coincided with the 30th Birthday of HIT as an organisation.
Harm Reduction Cafe Reports
We love hearing about the harm reduction cafes people are having, so please get in touch with us and let us know what you talked about, what went well (and if anything went wrong). Plus share some tips for other people who might be thinking of running their own cafe.
The first Harm Reduction Café in Echuca was at the Shamrock Hotel. It was really cold so small group warmed up by the fire and some people cancelled at the last minute. The people that come were from NSP and AOD work, a social worker and a naturopath. By total chance we were joined for a while by withdrawal Nurse who is also the NSP coordinator on holiday from a town in Gippsland over 400 kms away.
A select bunch braved the balmy Brunswick evening to participate in tonight's Harm Reduction cafe.
The 2015 pre-conference HIT Hot Topics harm reduction cafe took place in 'The Vines' (the big house) on Lime Street, as always this was a massively attended event with over 60 people coming along.
Geelong held its first Harm reduction Café last night, at Beavs Bar, Geelong. Hopefully this first of what will become a regular feature on the Barwon's harm reduction landscape.
